Paul joined Gramercy Typewriter Co. alongside his father in 1959 right after serving in the U.S. Navy. He has been servicing typewriters since then and has seen his share of changes in the industry. From the standard office machines, to the wide varied selection of portable typewriters, to the electric models, followed by the later electronic machines. Staying true to his trade, Paul is still fixing and servicing the very same makes and model typewriters he started working on nearly six decades ago. Paul is a hands-on business owner who still deals directly with his clients, and provides on site service calls to new and long established clients.
Justin(Jay) respresents the third generation of Gramercy Typewriter Co. Having grown up around typewriters most of his childhood, it seemed natural to join his father in the business- just like Paul did with his father. Jay specializes in the reconditioning of various makes and models of vintage typewriters. Bringing them back to life is what drives him, and being able to learn the trade from Paul has made him an expert in the field of typewriter repair and maintenance. Jay is a source of knowledge of typewriters and can provide his customers with the history and functionality of every machine in the shop.
